Australian joins select group of Grand Masters
Korean Grand Master, Hae Man Park flew in to Sydney to personally present Greg Wyllie with his new credentials and personally welcome him the inner sanctum of Taekwondo Grand Masters at his Willoughby Taekwondo training hall in the presence of 55 of Greg Wyllie's black belt level students. Greg is one of a select few non Koreans who has reached the rank of 8th Dan taekwondo black belt.
The last time the grand master met with Greg was over 20 years ago and largely due to the pioneering work Greg Wyllie has done in Australia with introducing children to taekwondo, the grand masters in Korea thought it was time Greg be included in their ranks.
Greg has, over the past 25 years, imparted values to children which have taught them respect for others and themselves, increased their ability to focus, to understand the value of integrity and self control through taekwondo. Greg says that the paradox of teaching someone how to fight so they will resist fighting has been the most effective tool in kerbing bullying in schools. Greg also worked as a school teacher for a long time before he diverted all his energy and time to teaching Taekwondo in Sydney schools and at his head quarters on top of Willoughby Post Office.
